These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of CharityIQ at charityiq.us. CharityIQ is a product of CIQ Technologies Ltd (“CharityIQ,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. Please read the AI disclaimers in section 8 carefully.
1. Who can use CharityIQ
CharityIQ is intended for US nonprofit organizations and the people who work with them. You must be at least 18 and have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of your organization. You are responsible for activity under your account.
2. Your account
Keep your login credentials secure and confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for the actions of users you invite.
3. The service
CharityIQ provides a free Grant Finder and paid tools for AI grant writing, Form 990 compliance support, and impact measurement. Some features are offered in early access and may change. We may update, add, or remove features to improve the service.
4. Plans, fees, and billing
- The Grant Finder is free. Paid plans start at $69/month (Starter), $219/month (Growth), and $499/month (Pro), with discounts for annual billing, as shown on our Pricing page.
- Paid plans include a 14-day free trial and require no card to start the trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of tax. We add US sales tax at checkout only where your state taxes SaaS.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing on renewal with reasonable notice.
5. Your data
You own the data you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and use it solely to provide and support the service. You represent that you have the rights and any consents needed to submit it. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
6. Acceptable use
Your use must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate it.
7. Intellectual property
CharityIQ, including its software, design, and content (excluding your data and AI output generated for you), is owned by CIQ Technologies Ltd and protected by law. If you send us feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it to improve the service.
8. AI output — important disclaimers
CharityIQ uses grounded AI that cites its sources, and it is designed to keep a human in the loop. Even so:
- AI output may contain errors or omissions. You must review and verify all output before relying on or submitting it.
- CharityIQ does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or professional advice. Compliance and Form 990 features are informational tools, not a substitute for a qualified professional.
- We do not guarantee that any grant will be awarded, that any application will succeed, or that any filing will be accepted or deemed compliant.
- CharityIQ is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the IRS, any government agency, Candid, or any funder.
- You are solely responsible for what you submit to funders and regulators.
9. Third-party services and data
The service surfaces third-party data and may link to third-party sites. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or terms. Verify funder programs, deadlines, and eligibility with the source before you act.
10. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CharityIQ will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify CharityIQ against third-party claims arising from your data, your use of the service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or the rights of others.
13. Term, suspension, and termination
You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the service or others. On termination, your right to use the service ends; you may export your data for a reasonable period, after which we may delete it consistent with our Privacy Policy and DPA.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date; material changes will be notified where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence provide otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, DPA, and Acceptable Use Policy, are the entire agreement between us. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
