How the directory works
Each profile in this directory answers the same five questions: what does this funder fund, how much do they typically award, who’s eligible, what are the deadlines, and do they accept unsolicited applications. Every figure is sourced from the funder’s own website, its IRS Form 990 / 990-PF filings, and grant-level data from Candid or ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer — with a citation on every specific number.
We’re honest about accessibility. Some of the largest US foundations fund almost entirely by invitation, and applying “unsolicited” to those funders is a waste of your team’s time. Every profile states plainly whether a funder is open, invitation-only, or somewhere in between, so you can decide where to actually spend your effort.
